Abstract Elizabeth A. Nelson was born in Chesterton, Indiana in 1898. She was valedictorian of her class at Augustana College in 1921 and taught English there for one year until she married Rev. Victor E. Beck in 1922. When her husband was called to pastor a church in Mankato, Minnesota, Mrs. Beck continued her church and community service work there until her death in 1939. Abstract Rudolph W. Edmund graduated from Augustana College with a Bachelor's Degree in Geology in 1934. After working for a year, Edmund continued his education at the University of Iowa where he pursued and then attained a Master's Degree (1938) and then a Ph. D. (1940). Henry Reck notebook

Abstract

Henry Reck was born near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, 24 August 1829. He was ordained as a Lutheran minister in 1852 and served two congregations and two orphanages until he was called to teach at Augustana College in Paxton, Illinois, in 1871. The Henry Reck notebook contains lecture notes dealing with apologetics, Bible study, and theology in general; these notes appear to be from his time at Gettysburg Seminary.
